How Zenko analyzes VALORANT
What we read about your VALORANT matches, how often we check, and how Competitive matches settle a challenge. This page is for players who want the methodology behind the numbers, the challenge hub itself stays focused on the picks.
What we read
Zenko reads public VALORANT match data for the Riot ID you link, read-only:
- Your Riot ID to find your account when you link it. Riot IDs can change hands, so check that the account shown is yours before you confirm.
- Your matches: the mode, map and agent, and your stats in each match: kills, deaths, assists, headshot percentage, damage per round, combat score, rounds won, and the win or loss.
- Your current Competitive rank, for your profile.
We read match history only for accounts linked to Zenko, never to look up other players. Zenko never changes anything on your Riot account, and you never report a score or send a screenshot.
How challenges settle
Most VALORANT challenges are settled by one Competitive match. The first qualifying match you begin within 12 hours of starting the challenge decides it: meet the target and you win, miss it and the challenge ends as a loss. A challenge to win several of your next matches is settled by those matches instead, still within 12 hours. There is nothing to report and nothing to settle by hand.
What qualifies: a Competitive match on the Riot ID you linked that begins after you start the challenge and within 12 hours. Unrated, Swiftplay, Deathmatch and every other mode are ignored, so you can play them freely. A drawn or remade match is skipped, not lost, and does not use up an attempt. A match already under way when you started the challenge does not count, and neither does a match that already decided another of your challenges.
If no match decides a one-match challenge within 12 hours, it is cancelled and any entry is returned. A one-match challenge that asks for a win is decided the same way: a match you lose ends it as a loss.
On a challenge over several matches, a match you lose still counts as one of them, and any win it asks for can come in any of them. If time runs out on a challenge over several matches, the matches you played decide it, and falling short is a loss. If you played none, any entry is returned.
How often we check
VALORANT matches can only be read after they end, so nothing is read while you play. While a challenge is running, Zenko checks your match history every five minutes, so your result usually follows within about ten minutes of the match ending. Your running challenge in the Activity panel has a "Check for match" button, usable every two minutes.
With no challenge running, your match history and rank refresh on a schedule that follows how recently you played: about every hour if you played in the last day, every six hours if you played in the last week, and once a day otherwise, or once a day however much you play if you have not played a challenge on Zenko in 30 days.
These reads run at a steady, capped rate and only for linked accounts, so unlinking stops them.
How difficulty adapts to your performance
Targets are built from your own recent Competitive matches. Each one starts from what you usually reach and asks for a little more, and a harder level asks for more again. A hot streak raises your next targets, a cold streak relaxes them.
This is personal tuning, not an alternate ranking system. Zenko does not publish a public leaderboard and does not re-rank Riot's Competitive ladder. The performance standing on your profile compares your play across Zenko with other Zenko players. It is not a skill rating or a ranking of all VALORANT players.
Your data and control
What we store: your VALORANT account link (your Riot ID, and where you told us you play), the matches we read, your Competitive rank, and aggregated analysis metrics.
What we do not store: passwords, or anything from your Riot account beyond the public match data described above.
Unlinking: a linked account is locked to your profile. To change or remove it, contact Zenko at support@zenko.gg. When an account is unlinked, we delete the analysis and rank data built from it and mark the link released. The match records we read from your VALORANT account are deleted too.
