How challenges work in League of Legends
Each League of Legends challenge is a personal target built from your own recent games. Most are settled by one Ranked Solo/Duo game, some by your next few. Your result is read from your match history after each game ends.
Before you play
Link your Riot account
Results are read from the League account you link, so link the one you actually play on. Games played on any other account do not count.
- On the challenges page, select Connect on the League of Legends tile
- Pick your region and enter your Riot ID as name#tag, then select Search
- Check that the account shown is yours, then select Agree & Link Account
Your first challenges appear once 5 of your newest 100 Ranked Solo/Duo games are counted. Ranked Flex, normal games and ARAM are not counted.
How it works
Pick a challenge
Each one is a target built from your own recent League games. Some also ask for a role or a champion.
Start it, then queue up
After you start the challenge, you have 12 hours to begin a Ranked Solo/Duo game on your linked account.
We follow your game
We see when your game starts, and read your result from your match history once it ends.
Get your result
Meet the target and credits are added to your balance. Free practice works the same way, with no credits involved.
If time runs out
Over several games, the qualifying games you played decide it, and falling short is a loss, Off-Meta runs too. Only no game at all returns any entry.
Where your result comes from
Your result comes from your own League match history, read through the Riot Games API. It is read-only: Zenko never changes anything on your Riot account, and you never report a score or send a screenshot.
You play
A Ranked Solo/Duo game on your linked account, played as you normally would.
Riot records the match
The finished game lands in your League match history with its stats.
We check your target
We read that match and compare your stats with your target.
What counts
Counts
- Ranked Solo/Duo games on the Riot account you linked
- Games that begin after you start the challenge, up to 12 hours later
- Games of 15 minutes or more that end in a surrender: they count, and your stats stand
- A game you leave or go inactive in, other than a remake, is a lost game that uses a try, on any role, champion or length
Doesn't count
- Ranked Flex, normal games, ARAM and every other queue, though if time runs out after one, the challenge ends as a loss
- A game that began before you started the challenge, even one already in progress
- Remakes, and any game shorter than 15 minutes
- Games on a role or champion your challenge does not allow: they use no try, but time running out after one is a loss
When results appear
League games are followed as they happen. We see when your game starts, and your result is read from your match history shortly after it ends. There is nothing for you to report.
