How challenges work in VALORANT
Each VALORANT challenge is a personal target built from your own recent Competitive matches. Start it, play Competitive within 12 hours, and your result is read from the finished match.
Before you play
Link your Riot ID
Results are read from the VALORANT account you link, so link the one you play Competitive on. Riot IDs change hands, so check the account before you confirm. To change a linked account later, you need to contact Zenko support.
- Open VALORANT on your Zenko profile, or pick it when you sign up
- Type your Riot ID: your name, then the tag after the hash
- Check that the account shown is yours, then choose where you play
- Press Agree & Link Account
Your first challenges appear once 5 of your newest 40 Competitive matches are counted. Unrated, Swiftplay and other modes are not counted.
How it works
Pick a challenge
Each target is built from your own recent Competitive matches. Free practice works the same way, with no credits involved.
Play Competitive within 12 hours
Queue Competitive after you start the challenge. Other modes are ignored, so you can play them freely.
We read the finished match
Once the match is in your public match history, your stats are checked against the target.
See your result
Meet the target and credits are added to your balance. Miss it and the challenge ends as a loss.
Where your result comes from
Your result comes from your own VALORANT match history, read from public VALORANT match data for the Riot ID you linked. It is read-only: we never change anything on your Riot account, and you never report a score or send a screenshot.
Your match
Played as normal on your own account.
Your match history
The finished match appears in public VALORANT match data.
Your result
Your stats are read and checked against your target.
What counts
Counts
- Competitive matches on the Riot ID you linked
- Matches that begin after you start the challenge
- Matches that begin within 12 hours of starting it
Doesn't count
- Unrated, Swiftplay, Deathmatch and every other mode
- Drawn or remade matches. They are skipped, not lost.
- A match already underway when you started the challenge
- A match that already decided another of your challenges
When results appear
VALORANT matches are read after they end, not while you play. We check your match history every few minutes, so your result follows shortly after the match. If you play no Competitive match within 12 hours, the challenge is cancelled and any entry is returned.
- Your match ends
- Usually within 10 minutes
- Your result appears
